I don’t have a lot – or, really, any – pictures of me in Halloween costumes. A lot of the pictures from earlier years were lost in a flood in my mother’s basement, or I don’t have copies and they are in boxes somewhere, or… they’re just lost. Period.
It’s too bad.
I’ve done all the standard costumes in my later high school years; witch, sexy witch, cat, sexy cat, etc. I used to work at a Party store (as a Party Pro!) and we used to try on costumes all the time. Halloween is a busy time for party stores, and we would spend an entire week getting to work at the crack of dawn - literally - to completely re-stock one side of the store.
I’m sort of sick of costumes, honestly.
But I will share with you this one, hideous picture, of my second Halloween with Cupcake at 16 months. She was dressed as an adorable pirate. I was dressed as a frumpy mom with two pimples on my face and a clown nose, plus a necklace that did NOT match what I was wearing.

There. Don’t say I never did anything for you.

Awe – I LOVE – yes L.O.V.E – Halloween and all things costumes. I’m already gearing up for the annual costume party at our house…oh the fun!!!

@Kel, my birthday is in early November, so my birthday parties were always Halloween themed. I’m a little sick of it!

I just cracked up at this. I love you. That is all.

I didn’t even notice the necklace until you pointed it out. And I wouldn’t have even thought anything of it…had you not pointed it out. LOL
Looove the pirate.

@Tatiana, I like a girl who can focus on the positive! (i.e. NOT look at that damn picture of me)

Now that is a happy pirate! Trying on costumes and getting paid for it has to be one of the better perks I’ve ever heard of from working retail. Just sayin…

@Bella C., for the most part it was pretty awesome. Other times? Dude. People who shop in stores are stupid.

Last year I was a sexy vampress. Two years ago I was a garbage man – complete with a bandana, official trash company tshirt, and work pants.
This year I think I want to be a naughty angel.
Except I don’t DO anything on Halloween, so that’s kinda pointless, huh?
Once you have kids, it’s SO much more fun to dress THEM up than it is to dress yourself up. Now that mine don’t “do” costumes anymore, I have no choice but to dress my damn self.
And I’d say that a clown nose qualifies as a costume when you have a 16 month old. Hell, jeans and a tshirt qualifies as a costume at that point!!!

@MommyGeek, The teenager is 15… and has about 50 lbs and half a foot on me… MAKING him dress up would have to involve me swinging a baseball bat. Lil guy is 11, but it’s hard to do a halloween costume around a wheelchair… and being that he’s not in school this year, and I can’t transport him, it’s not much fun
… plus, it pisses him off.
