We have two little beautiful girls – Cupcake and Geeklet. If you’re new around here, you may not know what Cupcake is 3.5 years old, and Geeklet is recently 1yr old. I love them to pieces – for all the usual reasons, but also because:
- You never have to worry about not having enough Reds to run a full load. Ever.
- No pee-pee tee-pees.
- They have the most *adorable* clothes. (Though honestly, nothing beats a 2 year old in a tux.)
- The shoe selection is much wider.
- They can wear all the colors, even the boy colors, and all you need is a bow to let the world know you’ve still got a GIRL here.
- The bows. Oh gosh, the bows. Headbands SQUEE!
- Frilly butts. On tights, pants, onesies, you name it. I LOVE A RUFFLE BUTT.
- Easily entertained with one doll, two dresses, and a pair of shoes.
- Easier potty training.
- Less likely to hear things explode when I’m not looking.
Do you have boys or girls? Why do you love it?
Well, I have neither. But right now.. OW MY UTERUS! Aaache. I agree, rufflebutts are the cutest.

Well I have two boys. And let me tell you, the VERY BEST REASON TO HAVE BOYS IS:
I have only TWO penises to worry about. You? You have ALL THE REST OF THEM!

I have one of each, and I’m already dreading the hormones of my daughter… she’s 6 now, going on 22. Yikes.

OMG I love a good rufflebutt too! I once took Kitt to get her pic taken in a blue dress with HUGE PINK FLOWERS all over it, and the photographer still said to me, “Can you hold him up a little bit?”

The little boy section in stores makes me cry. I’ll tell you though, boys are so much easier in some ways. Even at 14 months, he is so much less high maintenance than my girls.

i have two girls and i LOVE it – honestly, i would be okay if we never had a boy.
girls seem so much easier to me. mine are so content to play with their dolls and toys nicely. there is less banging and throwing than with the boys i’ve seen! and the outfits – girls clothes are just SO MUCH better. and disney princesses. who doesn’t love a princess? and hair! hair is great – we can do things, ponytails, pigtails, barettes, and bows
plus, i love the sister bond. whether they are always best friends or they become close when they are older, they will always be sisters and that is amazing.
