You certainly remember this easy and inexpensive game from your childhood. They are very simple to make and the result is sensational. You will only need couple of potatoes, a knife (just for adults) and a paint in different colors. You can use potato stamps in many games – for example at the post office also they can be used to decorate fabrics, gift wrapping paper, decorating notebooks, floors and walls, sealing notebook collections in short they can make a child a lot of joy.
Origami
Origami is the art of folding paper and also an educational method of supporting development of your kid. For sure it requires a lot of patience and discipline from kids but it’s an interesting activity filling the free time of children and adults. The first thing you will need is a sheet of paper in different sizes and in various colors that is relatively strong and folds to give a sharp edge. There are many videos or tutorials on the internet that can be your guide.
Coloring Pages
To start this colourful journey you will only need sheets of paper with the outlines of characters or scenery you can find on the internet for free (for example with Frozen characters) and some pens, brushes, paints or crayons. You also need a bit of space. What’s so perfect about this activity? You don’t have to clean up after coloring. Remember that your kid can color whatever he wants – the only limit is his imagination. Animals in very original colors? Red cat and blue dog? Why not?
Shadow Theatre
The accessories that you will need are a lamp and hands. You can literally create anything by your hands that pops into your head e.g. a shape of a bunny or a dog. As a background you can use a wall or a white sheet thrown on a sofa. Let the characters talk to each other and just let your imagination run wild. Try different hand settings and see what your kid see from the shadow created by you.
Hide And Seek
Children love to hide and if you think it’s not a game for two than you are wrong. Who will be looking first? You? It’s good to be in a role of seeker (“Hmmm, where is Robert? Where can he be? Maybe in my purse?”). Even if a kid is sticking out from behind the door or the toddler is so loud that his hideout is also known to you have fun with it. Now switch roles and let your kid to have a satisfaction to seek you. Just have a crazy time at home!
