Why You Should Travel with Kids to Samui

Fun and Luxury

A voyage abroad for kids can be a magical experience as well as a culturally enlightening one as well. Spending the holiday away from the usual and boring home town will be a special treat. Kids will love Samui for all the great things to do here but maybe more for the amazing family villas in Samui. They could get their own bedroom, a private luxury movie room, a game room and especially the private pool with a great view! Parents will love it as well because of the ease and luxury of the whole experience. Anything you need from a car to the airport, dinner reservations or even a private chef can be arranged without a hassle through the villa manager.

Beach and Boat

Of course you will be spending a lot of family time at the beach. Before you pack the leash and water wings it’s good to know that the beaches of Koh Samui are so kid-friendly! Also the locals and the Thai culture in general is very kid friendly and laid back so this will be the perfect opportunity to relax with the family. Silver Beach is the best spot to go to with children! No waves and shallow water all the way out. Highly recommend is to find a boat tour with a local guide and to see the island by water.

Island Hopping and Water Sports

Koh Tao is also a great spot to put on your must visit list. It  is a small island with remarkably clear water. Just a few minutes by boat from Samui. It’s a beautiful spot for snorkelling and marine life watching. A lot of places on the island will ask you if you want to rent water sport equipment when you arrive. It’s a great side trip for teenagers but there is also a small beach with shallow water for the little ones to enjoy as well.

Waterpark and More Water

Aquapark is a really fun water park (even for the adults) It’s beautifully located right on the oceanfront of Monkey Bay Restaurant. It has large inflatable slides, obstacle courses and water trampolines and those are just some of the adventure items here. Everyone is required to wear a lifejacket when playing on the equipment. Also the water is shallow enough for those over eight years old to stand in.

Fresh Air and Exercise

A day trip to Ang Thong Marine park is also a great option to keep the kids entertained and happy. Best for older kids of nine years old or so as well as teenagers. It’s also a great way to see more of Samui and the surrounding islands by boat. Kayaking, snorkelling, swimming and paddle boarding here in the crystal-clear water with the beautiful island backdrop is just stunning. The untouched archipelago of forty two islands with the native wildlife is a real thing of beauty and a reminder or a learning tool for how important nature is. This is the best way to spend the day outside in the sunshine and fresh air getting exercise as a family.

Butterflies and Gardens

The butterfly garden is a must see for the little ones or any nature lover. The really little kids will be amazed as hundreds of butterflies flutter about and maybe even land on them. Eighty different species of butterflies live here. Learn about the insect’s life cycle and the different life stages. A small enchanted garden with thousands of butterflies and native plants that you can walk through and explore, nothing sounds more magical. It’s a short activity but a great one that will leave lasting memories and photos.

Cooking and Learning

Get the whole family involved with a cooking class! Many cooking classes start with an excursion to the local market. There the guide will teach you about the different ingredients used in Thai cuisine. Then you all head back to the kitchen to get cooking! Thai food is so full of history and rich flavour. Many small dishes make a meal so there is a lot to do in these classes. It’s great fun for kids of all ages to get them involved and to try new things. Forget the electric blender they will be able to see and learn how to use a mortar and pestle, the Thai way. It’s usually about a three hour experience in all, so a great way to spend the day together as a family.
